About

What do Salesforce.com, Tencent Holdings and Intuitive Surgicals have in common? They all are cooking up a new recipe for innovation, one of the highest priorities for executives today. Fostering innovation in the workforce is very high on the agenda of across industries and ranks. With the budgets getting frozen and at times slashed, there is a constant need to look for ways and methods to increase the ROI without compromising on quality. To cook up greater creativity, leaders need to update their approach to collaboration, compensation and culture. The new recipe would start with laying a base of trust. Mix risk-taking with job security. Subtract strict chains of command and barriers to ideas. Add professional development. Reward excellence in routine activities and efforts to find breakthroughs. Openly discuss failure.

Simple as it may sound, it makes the work of the HR trickier. Companies need to bring in a change in their cultures to make employees live, eat and breathe innovation. It would also mean adopting a middle path when the new and the old converge, making it imperative to balance the experience of the old with the energy of the new.

Aptly enough, NASSCOM HR Summit 2013, July 23rd and 24th, Chennai is themed around Workforce Innovation: New Way of Working vs Old Way of Thinking. The conference spread over 2 days would focus on some key themes like reinventing and humanizing HR. Are our HR processes becoming too mechanical and methodical? 1 plus 1 may not add upto 2, when personal touch is involved. Find out how you can bring back the human element to the HR processes, which have got sidelined somewhere in the journey.

We all know how the method and tone of communication can make or break a conversation. Our session on crafted communication would discuss how the team leaders and management can help build trust in a team with timely and precise communication. When the businesses can’t stay stagnant, nor can the people driving them. Our session on reinventing people focuses on the need to unlearn and retrain to optimize the resources.

Social media can both be a boon and a bane, depending upon how it’s utilized. A blanket ban, can lead to employees revolting while a prudent policy on usage can help management make friends with the medium and use it enhance the employee engagement. There would also be sessions around big data and emotional intelligence, making it a wholesome experience for you.

Do remember to pre-register yourself for the Masterclasses on compensation plan, use of technology as one of the key trends of HR and inculcating healthy work habits in the employees.

Join us for the 2 day event on how to foster innovation in the workforce. Where leaders would talk about key ingredients in the new formula — including fresh approaches to collaboration, compensation and culture — as well as hear stories about companies on the cutting-edge. And you get to hear all this from the horse’s mouth! This would be time well invested and you wouldn’t want to miss it in the world.
